Best Contemporary Canadian Restaurants in Yorkdale

One Restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is one of my favorite Yorkdale spots. The summer patio is beautiful, right on the corner with tall trees wrapped in lights. It’s romantic and feels very Yorkville. I used to work nearby, so coming back now feels a little nostalgic. My partner and I had a reservation there last Sunday after done with our brunch at Old Mill restaurant and our evening date at One Restaurant last Sunday was a great experience over some cocktails and Old fashion and the patio was fully booked. This Sunday my best friend and I had a beautiful thoughtful evening over coffee and delicious pastry. It wasn’t too crowded, but still a nice vibe. We were there for coffee and dessert. I had an unsweetened soy latte and my friend had the same coffee drink with honey on the side. Our server Shantal was wonderful. Friendly, attentive, and she gave great recommendations. She steered us towards the “Yuzu pistachio tart”with pistachio ice cream, and it was fantastic. Crisp yet creamy, balanced, and not too heavy. I tried the “Boston cream donuts” with dark chocolate glaze and honeycomb. Not your typical donut rich pastry cream, not overly sweet, and a really nice caramelized touch of honeycomb. Three were too much for me, so definitely shareable. We also ordered sparkling water, and I have to mention that I’m absolutely obsessed with the specific one they serve; Vellamo from Finland. It has such a clean, crisp, refreshing taste with a beautiful subtle minerality. It’s a small detail, but definitely one of the things I always enjoy when I visit ONE. What made it special though was Shantal’s service. She checked in often without hovering, took time to chat when it was quieter, even we had a great conversation over EDM and Rock music genres, and made us feel genuinely cared for. It was my friend’s first time, and she loved it. I’ve heard good things about their all day breakfast too, so that that’ll probably be next on my list. Thank you all BOH ✨ & FOH ✨

I am mostly impressed by the service, our waitress was very helpful, friendly and patient. Food is excellent overall but not impressive so there's definitely room for improvement, maybe I am just too picky as it takes a lot to wow me. Atmosphere is good as well but can get pretty loud as the restaurant fills up. Pricing is decent considering the location so I think you get what you paid for. The washrooms feels a bit tight (which is common in downtown I guess) but is acceptable and you can tell they tried their best to make it as comfortable for the guests as possible. Overall, I really enjoyed my time there with my girl friend for her birthday celebration. Appreciate the experience and will definitely come back in future. :)
