Best Modern Southern American Restaurants in Baton Rouge

Outstanding! This was our first time and it was fantastic. Service was excellent. We got the Brussels sprouts and crab cake for apps. We tried the snapper, lobster roll, hamburger and grilled cheese and it was all so good. I highly recommend and will definitely return.

My friend and I had such a wonderful lunch here today. Our waitress was phenomenal—so attentive and prompt throughout our meal, and she gave us some excellent recommendations that did not disappoint. My friend had the Classic Caesar and Lobster Roll with Truffle Frites. She absolutely loved the lobster roll, and after trying some of her truffle fries, I can confidently say they were some of the best fries I’ve ever had! I had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Lobster Bisque to start, followed by the Jumbo Shrimp Piccata. Everything was delicious. The flavors were so well done, and there genuinely wasn’t a single thing we ordered that we didn’t enjoy. We also loved our drinks—my friend had a mocktail that was delicious, and I had one of their strawberry Fiery Remarks. Between the food, drinks, atmosphere, and exceptional service, the entire experience was a 10/10. We will absolutely be back!

We fully enjoyed our visit to the Carriage House. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. We will be back again and again.
