Best European Restaurants in Horning

We were looking for a new gastro pub for a Saturday afternoon lunch. I asked AI, and it recommended The Crown and Mitre. It has a great riverside location, and easy parking nearby. I would describe my experience there as a total surprise. Its nautical themed interior is the real deal. When I saw the wonky gang plank stairs, I was a little worried as I wasn’t sure my knees would allow me to climb them. But our server very kindly took my glass of wine for me, and I ascended surprisingly easily. Our server also deserves a mention. She was very helpful, suggested a dish to us, and was very sweet. She helped us to come away feeling very positive about our experience. The food was very good as well served hot, and without a long wait. It was just right. So, all in all I would highly recommend this pub!

We booked Cafe Benji which is on the first floor within Jarrolds department store in Norwich for "Afternoon Tea" to celebrate my wife's birthday, along with our youngest daughter. It was a really good experience and perhaps a hidden gem. We were warmly welcomed, expected due to having pre-booked, and taken to our reserved table. The service throughout was excellent, as was the tea (coke for my daughter) and food served, which included 4-varieties of sandwich, warm scones with cream and jam, and a super-cake selection. In fact we couldn't eat it all and they were well prepared with small takeout cartons. Benji's was well decorated/themed, creating a really nice setting. We went on a Monday afternoon, so naturally would be quieter. Definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Often eat here - great menu, choice and location. Excellent value for money. Staff always very attentive.
