We went during Omaha Restaurant Week, and between myself and my husband, we tried one of each item on the menu. My husband really liked his spicy tuna crunchy rice app, while I enjoyed the taste but not the texture of my fig app. My crab-stuffed cobia fish entree with risotto and broccolini was all delicious though, and went well with the provided lemon drizzled over it all. My husband's beef short ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots were delicious. Our desserts were both good, but the standout was the chai pumpkin creme brulee - the smooth pumpkin custard was delicious, with just that hint of spice and cozy fall. The sugar was slightly burnt, but not enough to diminish the flavor. My peach cobbler a la mode was okay - the ice cream was generous and the peaches were warm and tasty. The cobbler portion was mostly non-existent and burnt. I would get his dessert or something else next time.
The ambiance and service were great; we were just seated next to loud talkers for our whole meal. The two-seater tables are very close together, so while we hoped to have an enjoyable date overall, it was a bit distracting and uncomfortable to be so close. We heard everything they said all night without effort, and we felt a bit like we shouldn't say very much since the reverse would also be true. I hope they had a good anniversary date, but since there were open tables, we would have preferred being seated farther away, or next to people who were closer to finishing their food. Our server had great timing on when she visited our table, and she lit the oil lamp on our table without complaint. That did add a nice touch to the ambiance.
We enjoyed trying a new location, and we were glad to experience so many new food items. It feels like a place that cares, and they have a cute patio area we would try on a non-rainy and cold night in the future. We will come back, talkers and minor food issues aside. It is a pleasant and tasty place with good service.
