I love eating here. We went on a Friday lunch time. It was very relaxed. The staff there are very friendly and so helpful. My fish and chips were fantastic and the curry sauce that I ordered as an extra was delicious. The apple and plumb custard I had for pudding was so yummy and there was no problem when we asked if we could swap ice cream for custard. A lovely way to spend a Friday lunchtime

My sis and I had a really lovely experience at The Oakfield in Chester Zoo yesterday for my birthday. Our server was absolutely brilliant, answering our questions and helping us with the finer points of our food and drinks choices. We thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips: a real treat ! After dessert and coffee he got the whole restaurant singing Happy Birthday to me and brought me a mini velvet Swiss roll and birthday message too: embarrassing but very cute! Perfect.

We had the 2 meals for £14 offer and it was excellent value. Food was delicious and the service was great too. Also enjoyed the DJ and his music. Excellent community pub. Keep up the great work!

    We booked at 3pm after visiting Chester Zoo didn’t expect anything than average pub food, But WOW how wrong were we. The food was outstanding the drink option was so vast and the service was fantastic everyone was so friendly. We had crispy calamari for stater, Peri chicken thighs ciabatta and chicken schnitzel for main. My husband had Beaverton Gamma ray and I had Chase pink grapefruit gin and tonic. Fantastic drinks. The place was so beautiful in the edge of the Zoo. It was a shame that it only opens same time as the zoo so only until 4.30pm. Overall 10 out of 10 from us.
