Best Japanese Speciality Restaurants in Sorrento Mesa

Party of 6, we tried many dishes. The food was excellent. Service top notch!

Food was amazing. They definitely delivered that fresh sushi roll you’ve been craving for ever since you had that sushi roll in Japan. We had miso soup to start, and it was different in a great way compared to the ones we have had in other restaurants. My partner ordered Tako Wasa, and all I remember him saying was it was slimy lol We had La Jolla as our roll, and it was really good! The rice was nice and light, and you can taste the freshness of the fish. I, unfortunately cannot remember what my partner had and his main course. We ordered a bottle of sake, Otokoyama Junmai Gino. So smooth and crisp… perfect for a hot SoCal evening. When the cravings hit again, this is THE place to go back to. We are definitely coming back! Just VERY VERY minor details: - We came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and no greeting nor acknowledgment was given (not that we were expecting anything) - ambience and interior design was a bit cold. It just didn’t feel very welcoming. The bathroom definitely needs some upgrading. But all these are not that important as long as they keep up with their amazing food!!

We sat at the sushi bar to celebrate my birthday and ordered all of the chef's fresh nigiri recommendations, which were excellent and unique! They had a large variety of fish beyond your common tuna, yellowtail, and salmon options. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive. I would rate this experience up there with Sushi Ota and the omakase experiences I have had in Tokyo.

One of my favorite restaurant experiences in san diego. The staff was very attentive and polite. I highly recommend to anyone in San Diego. World class experience and amazing staff. The food was exceptional!
