Best Latin American Restaurants in Encanto

We ate at SobreMesa for the first time on Friday early evening around 5:30pm and what an experience! Located near an unassuming strip mall in La Mesa, don't let the location fool you, it's a fantastic restaurant! Firstly, the decor and ambience are stunning and the greeting was warm and welcoming. We got great recommendations and when the food came I can honestly say it was the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. This isn't your fave hole in the wall taco place, this is upscale gourmet takes on your favorites. We ordered the Enchiladas Verdes and the Shrimp Aguachile for starters, then onto 2 Birria Plates and the Tacos Gringa - everything was absolutely delicious! My fave were the Tacos Gringa with carnitas, grilled pineapple, pickled onions and tortillas lined with melted cheese! I'm still thinking about them 2 days later. We also had a couple of glasses of wine, and 2 zero alcohol Mexican beers. The entire bill for the 3 of us was just $200!!! I took my mother for lunch today and it cost $130 plus $20 to valet park - ridiculous! Run, don't walk to SobreMesa for an amazing experience and incredible food! I can't wait to go back soon!

All around great experience every time. The tacos are unique and full of flavor. The squash blossoms are TDF and the cocktails are excellent 👌

Our server was very good and thoughtful. Our food selections were very good. The salsa was excellent as were the chips. We enjoyed our dinner.

We went for Happy Hour and everything, including the drinks, was delicious. I’ll definitely return
