Best Casual Restaurants in Whitley Bay

Party of five so tried various things on the menu and everyone loved their dishes. Service was excellent - waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly and polite. If you are visiting Newcastle book here, you won’t be disappointed.

This was a wonderful find for a Saturday lunch while on a weekend in Newcastle. It is a properly good French restaurant that excels at those familiar favourites and, even better, operates a sort of tapas/small plate style. I chose the boeuf bourguignon with gratin dauphinois and both were as near perfect as they could be - as good as, if nor better than, similar in France. My dessert was an absolutely spot on crème brûlée. The wine list is very good too with lots of choice of both wine and how you order (glass/carafe/bottle options on many bottles). Service was friendly, relaxed and expert. Would I go again - undoubtedly! We are already planning a trip to Newcastle (from Edinburgh) specifically so my wife can sample the delights of The French Quarter.

My Wife and I absolutely loved it here! We popped in 2025 for some celebratory champagne drinks and were shown the best night by the staff that we have been waiting to come back for a full meal. Last night was amazing, the food was sensational the wine was beautiful. Atmosphere was so fun and vibes were great! Our waitress was fantastic, we want to apologise for chatting to her so much, she was so personable! Everyone was fantastic. We cant wait to come back and I think it will now be on our rotation of favourite restaurants! Thankyou!

When you step inside Newcastle Côte and Aga is your maitre d for the evening you just know it’s going to be special time! And last night was no exception. She really enjoys what she does and here warmth and joy is infectious. A big thank you to her and all the team for a memorable occasion for all the right reasons. We will be back very soon

Lovely autumn menu, great atmosphere in the restaurant with the added bonus of 5 star service, highly recommend.
