My husband and I celebrated an early anniversary dinner at Hy’s on Friday evening, and once again, it reminded us why it is our favourite restaurant in Calgary without question. From the moment we arrived, every detail was exceptional. We started with oysters, cheese toast, and beef carpaccio, followed by perfectly prepared steaks, and every course was absolutely delicious. The quality of the food, presentation, and attention to detail were outstanding from start to finish. What truly sets Hy’s apart, however, is the service. Our waiter, Dino, was phenomenal. Attentive, professional, warm, and genuinely kind, he anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. We believe he has served us several times over the past seven years, and every experience with him has been memorable. This visit was no exception. Without us ever mentioning that we were celebrating our anniversary, Dino surprised us with a beautiful complimentary truffle dessert and heartfelt anniversary wishes. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made an already wonderful evening feel even more special. To make the night even more memorable, a couple of our other favourite waiters stopped by our table to wish us a happy anniversary as well. It felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed back by old friends. In an age where exceptional service can be hard to find, the team at Hy’s consistently delivers it with class, professionalism, and genuine care. They don’t just serve great food they create memorable experiences that keep us coming back year after year. Thank you, Dino, and thank you to the entire Hy’s team for making our anniversary celebration so special. We can’t wait to return.

The hostess was quite accommodating with where we were comfortable to be seated and that was greatly appreciated. Our waiter, Luis, was extremely attentive and most helpful with his fantastic recommendations. All of our appetizers, main courses, and desserts were brought out in timely and professional manner. Have been to Continental a few times and it truly is one of the best hidden gems in Calgary. From the food, to the staff and the atmosphere, it truly feels like an extremely high quality restaraunt run by people who genuinely care about you and your experience. I’m a city full of great restaraunts like Major Tom, 10 foot Henry etc please do yourself a favour and go to the Continental for an even more caring, unique, and European experience.

Our anniversary dinner was fantastic. The waiter recognized us from last time and we were seated at the requested window seat. Food was perfect and service was impeccable. The extra touches of a card and sprinkles on the cake were very thoughtful.
