Lovely dinner and cinema trip to Depot. The food was delicious, there was a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (including some excellent local wines). The service was great, the servers were really polite and didn’t mind when we still weren’t ready to order at the third time of asking 😂 Great atmosphere, a lovely evening out.

The Vine House is a great addition to the Brighton dining scene. Its décor is contemporary and chic, offering both style and comfort in a restaurant large enough for everyone to find a favourite place to sit. The food was modern and beautifully cooked, with a well-balanced menu offering something for everyone. I really like the combination of wine bar, dining venue and off-sales. There’s a great selection of wines, which are well priced, alongside a very accessible corkage charge. The service was faultless throughout. I’m very pleased to see The Vine House arrive in Kemp Town, which for a while has lacked a venue capable of consistently winning five-star reviews. It certainly has one now. Highly recommended.

We were shown to excellent elevated table - we were party of 4 but the table could have easily taken more but it was still perfect for 4. The cod special excellent and the sticky toffee pudding the best I’ve ever had. The steak pie was chosen by both husbands and was also delicious - perfect pastry and generous filling. The service was lovely - friendly, helpful and witty from arrival to the time we left and we were served by at least 6 different people. We’d never been before and felt very welcome. Would highly recommend - and will thank my friends who recommended The Cat to me.
