This place always delivers, welcoming staff, a lovely bar area and restaurant. As always the service was spot on and the food was perfect. We both chose the sirloin steak with chips and salad and we both agreed the steaks were full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Chips were crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. To follow we had a sticky toffee pudding (light and full of flavour) and a pear and ginger crumble (lovely bits of pear and a warm ginger background note) A perfect meal that we could not fault

We enjoyed the lunch special, I started with satay chicken skewers, followed by the minute steak with pepper sauce, both of which were delicious. The serving staff were very personable and attentive. I should mention that they brought a complementary birthday dessert for my friend. All in all, a lovely experience which I would recommend.

We had a lovely experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the service was friendly, attentive and welcoming without being overbearing. The whole team made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return. Thank you to everyone for making it such an enjoyable meal!

Beautifully cooked fish as usual. Definitely the place to eat if you love good seafood. My husband’s pork was excellent too. The white horse also has a choice of vegan meals including a choice of three desserts, amazing.

Lovely evening which is what we now expect from The Bank House which is a reliably good place to eat and relax. Food was hot and delicious. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We had a guest with us from Essex who said said the sea bass was the best she’d tasted. Malbec was a bit too dry for our taste but otherwise no complaints!

We had dinner at Kobe Steakhouse Cambridge yesterday evening and, overall, we had a lovely experience. The food was genuinely exceptional — the sirloin and ribeye were both cooked perfectly, and the asparagus and dessert were excellent too. The quality of the food was outstanding, and we would definitely return. There were just a few small things that could have made the experience even better. The music was quite loud for the atmosphere we were hoping for. We politely asked if it could be turned down, and our waitress kindly said she would try, but unfortunately it didn’t seem to change, which made relaxed conversation a little difficult. We also ordered two ciders and specifically asked for glasses with ice so we could pour the bottled cider ourselves. Instead, they arrived already poured into glasses and without ice. Not a major issue, but slightly confusing given what we had requested. The main disappointment was towards the end of the evening. We had only just finished our dessert when the bill was brought over, and we were charged without being asked if we were ready to pay. As the restaurant was still quite busy and it wasn’t particularly late, it unfortunately gave us the impression that we were being encouraged to leave. We completely appreciate this may not have been the intention, but it did affect the final few minutes of what had otherwise been an excellent evening. Overall, though, we absolutely loved the food and were very impressed with the restaurant. These are intended as constructive comments because, with food of this quality, we feel the service and attention to detail should ideally match it from beginning to end. Our compliments to the kitchen team — the food really was fantastic. We would happily come back and hope to enjoy an equally great experience next time, with just a little more attention to the service details.
