Had a fantastic experience at The Ivy in yesterday with Julie. Everything was perfect from start to finish — the food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. We happened to dine here when our first choice was full. We are so glad to have been bumped to this dining establishment also located in the Apex Waterloo place hotel. Make this your first choice for fine dining in Edinburgh. I happen to love fresh mussels cooked in a cream, butter, garlic sauce. I asked about the portions as I’ve been dissatisfied with both the quantity and quality of the dish in previous restaurants. Our server was a Ukrainian girl. She described the dish in detail. Upon arrival it was everything as described. Approximately 80 mussels in total. My party of four was overwhelmed by the quality of each dish. I cannot rate this establishment higher.

Sofie is an exceptional expert on the subject of whisky! She asked thoughtful questions in order to curate the perfect bespoke tasting flight for myself and my husband. Having wanted to do a whisky tasting at the Glasshouse Snug Lounge for sometime, it was well worth the wait!

My daughter and I had a great afternoon tea yesterday. We were in a beautiful room with stunning views over Princes Street. The service was outstanding. Neither of us eat salmon so we were given extra beef brioche rolls instead. We ate absolutely everything and really enjoyed it. Would recommend. We bought our deal on Itison which is a bit cheaper than the usual price and we thought it was well worth it😊
