Our first trip to Germany. We scheduled this dinner on our second night in Munich. One of the most memorable events of our entire trip. We dined in the upstairs (more formal) area. The ambience is warm and quiet. The view from the window seats of the Opera was an added bonus. The service was superb, from beginning to end. Our waiter, Josip, should get most of the credit for such a wonderful evening. Their wine list is extensive. I selected 2 bottles of wine, and Josip was very enthusiastic about my selections. Each of the 4 of us chose a different entree and they were all excellent. My duck, in particular, was tasty. We then had desserts and schnapps. Josip again was so helpful in assisting me and my brother in choosing an aperitif. Our gratitude to the Spatenhaus, Josip, and the wonderful staff. On our next trip to Munich we hope to return. And if you can, ask for Josip to be your waiter/server. Prost!
