French Saloon
$$$$•French•4.7(388)Tucked away above the vibrant red brick of Hardware Lane in Melbourne's CBD, you'll discover French Saloon, an elevated casual dining experience that channels the spirit of a classic French bistro using local and seasonal ingredients. Open for lunch and dinner, ascend the narrow stairs and find yourself in a New York-style loft, bathed in natural light from large windows overlooking the bustling street below.
This confident yet casual French bistro is the brainchild of veteran restaurateurs Joshua Brisbane, Con Christopoulos (renowned for The European, Siglo, and Melbourne Supper Club) and prolific chef Ian Curley and executive chef Luke Fraser. The thoughtful wine list is naturally French-focused but with plenty of special local and domestic surprises too.
French Saloon's recent collaboration with the renowned London restaurant St John during the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has further cemented its place as a noteworthy destination in Melbourne's dynamic culinary scene.Scugnizzo

Just like mother used to make
Taste is something Hwaro is particular about. Taste is what owner and chef Eunsook Kim is mostly concerned with. Her dignified and somber character, reminds many people of their own mothers.
Kim herself is essential to Hwaro. The preparations for all the meat and sauce available at Hwaro are handled by Kim alone. This includes supervision of the slicing of the Karubi (boneless short ribs), and preparation of the 23 different ingredients* needed for the hot pepper seasoning. - CChristineFiji •1 review4.0Dined 4 days agoThis place was just what we were looking for. A little slice of Italy. There was only one dish that we did not like and that was a bit of a misunderstanding as to what we were getting. Everything else was exceptional. Despite being a bustling little place, they put us in the back corner of the restaurant and it was definitely not too noisy. Just enough to give atmosphere, but we could easily converse.More infoIl Solito Posto$$$$• Italian• Melbourne CBD•4.8
