About the restaurant

The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check. For decades following, The Lex, as it’s called by locals and enthusiasts alike, was the place to be seen; business dealings, cocktail hours, and milestone celebrations were a regular occurrence for St. Paul socialites.

Everything was top notch - including the bill at the end. But for a once in a while treat - it couldn’t be beat. Food was simply perfection. The service was beyond reproach - even thoroughly pampering. Atmosphere had a ‘private club’ feel.

About the restaurant
At Myriel we highlight wild and farmed ingredients from woods and growers we know. A dinner at Myriel is an invitation to be part of the community that provides for and results from this approach. At the table, we offer the open-hearted hospitality of Bishop Myriel as a way to connect with each other in our busy world.

We pride ourselves on processing our ingredients with care, utilizing careful skill and time to fill our larder with charcuterie, bread, and preserves all crafted in-house. Our menu is based upon what is good at any time, and so changes often with the seasons and with our whims. We offer an à la carte and Chef's tasting menu.

We are a small restaurant, so please be mindful of à la carte cancellations (we appreciate a 24-hour notice/cancellation if you need to, as it negatively impacts our business within 24 hours)

We are overjoyed to have you dine with us. Bienvenue!

We had an excellent time celebrating my son's 25th birthday. There was a complimentary dessert for him that was delicious. The food was delicious and the server made it a point to bring any meats that had not made its round to our table. We were also pleasantly surprised by the offering of Hmong pepper sauce and spciy Hmong sausage. It made us feel at home to see our culture represented in their food offerings and appreciated hearing the backstory on it from the manager on duty. We will defintely return for our next big milestone celebration and will be sharing our positive experience with others.
