Best French American Restaurants in Yorkville

Food is consistently delicious and service is consistently great. We've never been disappointed in either. It is a neighborhood favorite go-to and if I didn't live in the neighborhood, it would still be a favorite go-to. It was a damp and cool evening so the French onion soup, mussels, and chicken were perfect comfort food options. Lovely wine list. I've never ordered anything that I did not enjoy. I just miss those little chocolates!

We had dinner at The Consulate Midtown last night for the first time and absolutely loved it. The bar and restaurant provide a lovely ambiance and the staff are wonderful. The hostess was warm and welcoming, as was our bartender, who was very adept at properly making cocktails. He made one of the best manhattans I have ever had. So much so that I ordered a second one. Our waiter was also friendly and helpful, and expertly took care of us. We enjoyed our meals prepared by the sous chef, which included escargot, lobster, chicken and a crab cake. Plus amazing french fries which were cooked to perfection. I would go back for the french fries alone. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

We have eaten at your other Cognac restaurants but since we were going to city Center we made a reservation at this location. We were given a lovely round table and had a delicious dinner! I had the short ribs, that were superb!!!

The food, drinks and service were all fantastic and the room is absolutely beautiful! We didn’t have time for the afternoon tea but their tea that I ordered to drink is excellent. It is definitely on the pricier side but well worth a visit (stop in for a coffee/tea just to experience the setting).
