With a passion for family and food the Lujan sisters came together to open Agave Azul Kitchen & Tequila Bar in 2012. Their goal was to bring together a gathering of authentic Mexican home cooking that stuck to their roots. Their family originated from Zacatecas, Mexico and then came to Hughson, California to begin farming. With this heritage came recipes passed down from generation to generation. Food was the center of their life and growing up on a local farm allowed their family to cook at home with food grown on their land. Sandra and Gabby originally had the thought of opening Taqueria El Agave, but it quickly transformed into a full kitchen serving some of their favorite dishes such as pollo con crema y rajas. The unique thing about Agave Azul is their attention and focus to the quality of each of the ingredients that goes into their recipes and their commitment to never sacrificing on quality home grown ingredients.

    We have always had a great experience with the Old Water Office. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Servers have always been fantastic. The live music is just a bonus on Thursday and sometimes Friday night.

    Rodell made our experience AMAZING!! She was very attentive and we really loved her personality and sense of humor. She is very knowledgeable, professional and thorough. I hope to have the pleasure of being seated in her section the next time we come. The meals we had were also very delicious!! You can tell that the food is well sourced and has very high quality ingredients. Worth every penny!!

    The Leafy Things and Octopus were a great start. Then we shared the rigatoni with short rib ragu. Next was the full daurade fish and the New York Strip Steak with summer squash and brussels. And for dessert, we shared the ume ice cream and bread pudding. Everything was delicious and Blake, our server, was great. Made for a fantastic anniversary dinner with our besties!
